As a member, you also support the transformative work of the Reform Judaism movement, which provides many resources to our members and leadership. Reform Judiasm balances tradition with innovation, embraces diversity while asserting commonality, affirms beliefs without rejecting those who doubt, and brings faith to sacred texts without sacrificing critical scholarship. Together, we celebrate faith, culture, and connection in ways that are thoughtful, vibrant, and deeply rooted in shared values.

Membership at Temple Ner Tamid includes a variety of unique benefits and privileges.

Join Now!

All household members receive High Holy Day tickets including children up through the age of 26.  Additional tickets may be purchased for extended family members not living in the immediate area.

While Temple Tots and Shoresh Preschool are open programs, only TNT members may enroll children in the Religious School. Tuition fees are in addition to membership dues. New family members who enroll in Religious School receive a 50% discount off their first year of membership.

All Jewish life cycle ceremonies, from baby-namings to B’nei Mitzvahs to weddings and funerals, are provided by the Clergy to Temple members without fee in the sanctuary (there is an additional fee for B’nei Mitzvah preparation).

Members are entitled to purchase a cemetery plot in the Menorah section of the East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton. TNT also maintains plots specifically for Interfaith families.

Members can enroll their children in Union of Reform Judaism camps and their families in Israel programs. Members also receive Reform Judaism magazine. More information about the Union of Reform Judaism can be found at www.urj.org.

Location

Temple Ner Tamid serves a vibrant, welcoming community just 12 miles from NYC, including Bloomfield, Cedar Grove, Clifton, Glen Ridge, Montclair, Nutley, The Oranges, Woodland Park, Verona, and surrounding areas, offering the charm of small-town life with plenty of culture, coffee, and creativity! From parades to poetry readings, soccer leagues to live music, there’s something for everyone. True to our laid-back vibe (Montclair was once called the “Upper West Side of the suburbs”), TNT is a place where you can show up to Services in jeans. Come see for yourself any Friday night!

For Jewish Adjacents in Our Community

Temple Ner Tamid welcomes interfaith families. Non-Jewish spouses and parents are invited to join in prayer and festival observances as well as play a central role in their child’s B’nei Mitzvah, and may participate on every committee and auxiliary of the congregation. While many of our interfaith families will incorporate practices from multiple faiths in the home, we ask that families choose one path for formal institutional religious instruction in order to be eligible for enrollment in our Religious School. Approximately 25% of our congregation celebrates multiple faiths or cultural traditions, for which our Interfaith Life Committee fosters connection through events, conversations, shared holiday celebrations, and support networks, while our clergy actively participate or lead interfaith gatherings.
