More about Susan Dominus:
Susan Dominus is a staff writer at the New York TImes Magazine who frequently writes about science and culture, often with a focus on women’s health. In 2023, a longform story about menopause that she wrote for the New York Times Magaizne went viral and has been widley credited as having helped change the conversation about menopause and open it up for discussion, while helping women gain a better perspective on the safety profile of menopausal hormone therapy. That article won her. a National Magazine Award. This fall, she wrote another article about testosterone prescriptions in women, a hormone treatment that is likely underprescribed in the doses that major medical societies approve–but -overprescribed in very. high, relatively unstudied doses that have dramatic effects on women’s libido and energy. Susan Dominus was also part of the team that won the public service Pulitzer award for its coverage of sexual harassment. She has been anthologized in the Best American Science Writing and teaches journalism at Yale. Her book, The Family Dynamic, was one of Amazon’s best nonfiction books of the year.
