Exploring Israeli & Palestinian Poetry with Rabbi James Feder
When confronted with an inter-generational conflict like that between Israelis and Palestinians, it can be easy to forget what’s really at stake: people.
Especially from a distance, this conflict is often spoken of in terms of geo-politics and historical narratives, but if we want to truly understand what’s happening today, we need to understand those who are caught up in the violence.
For decades, Palestinian and Israeli writers have taken to poetry to express their worldviews, their losses, and their hopes. By placing select poems in conversation with one another, this course aims to provide new insights into an old paradigm and — perhaps — spark new inspiration.
This class will meet on Monday, December 1st, 8th and 15th at Temple Ner Tamid at 7:30pm.
