Laurie Schifano came to Temple Ner Tamid in September 2001. During her time at Temple Ner Tamid, she has seen a lot of changes, but one thing that has stayed the same is her loyalty to the organization. In her role as Director of Operations and Events, Laurie oversees the operations, events, and staff at Temple Ner Tamid. She manages the temple’s facilities, including building maintenance, event coordination, and human resources. Laurie is also responsible for supervising support staff, coordinating the temple calendar, and ensuring smooth execution of all events. She plays a key role in financial processes, security management, and member services, ensuring that all operational needs are met with efficiency and care. In her spare time, you can probably find her working in her vegetable garden, watching one of her children play sports or walking her dog, Abby. Laurie lives in Oakland with her husband Joe and their three boys – Michael, Jonathan and Thomas.
