Rabbi Sharon Litwin is passionate about partnering to create a vision with families of what Judaism can be. Her goal is to help parents and children want to seek the deeper meanings in Judaism. When her congregants say “We’re not religious,” she hopes to show them how much wisdom there is in Judaism to assist and inspire them in their lives.

Her experiences cross denominations. After leaving her increasingly Orthodox shul as a teenager, she discovered Reform Judaism at Washington University in St. Louis. There, she was mentored by the first female rabbi whom she ever met, and was inspired to attend rabbinical school at the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. After ordination in 2002, she led a congregation in suburban Chicago for three years, but realized Jewish education was her passion.

Rabbi Sharon then moved across the country, and taught rabbinics to middle school students at the Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County, NJ. From there, she became the Director of Education and Associate Rabbi at Temple Israel in Ridgewood, NJ where she founded and led a multi-congregational partnership religious school. She was there until 2015, when she took the position as Director of Congregational Learning at Congregation Bnai Israel in Millburn, where she worked until 2019. For the next three years, Sharon was the Director of Lifelong Learning, Religious School and Family Engagement at Temple Shaaray Tefila in Manhattan, prior to joining TNT in 2022. 

Rabbi Sharon will earn a Masters of Arts in Jewish Educational Leadership at HUC-JIR in 2025.

She is also the proud mother of Abby, fiancé to Scott Hartsein; almost step-mom to Sophie and Maeve. They live in Teaneck, NJ. And in her limited spare time she loves singing, reading, biking, swimming, and other outdoor activities.
